Type I (1951-2001). In 18K Gold (!), a white enamelled cross pattee with a ball finial at the end of each arm, a five point star in the center of the cross and eagles in each quadrant, the reverse mirrors the obverse, the badge is surmounted by a large crown with red, black, green, and white enamel details, marked 750 on top of crown, measures 68.35mm (w) x 90.8mm (h – inclusive of crown), weighs 47.7 grams, includes the full length period sash, enamels intact, light hairline fractures, remains in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the Star of the Order, in silver, an eight-point star with faceted rays, a super imposed Gold medallion with white enamel arms, a central Gold star and eagles in each quadrant, the reverse features a single vertical pin, the central medallion has been reaffixed, with makers mark of E. GARDINO SUCC CRAVANZOLA, measures 81.8mm (w) x 82.9mm (h), weighs 76.5 grams, dark patina on areas of silver rays, enamels intact, light wear to eagles, in extremely fine condition and very rare in Gold.

Miniature decoration in silver and enamels included, worn on thin original ribbon, measures 16mm (w) x 16mm (h), in very fine condition.

Contained in its original case of issue, a green leatherette exterior with gilt impression on the lid, interior presents a silk lid maker marked Cravanzola Succ. E. Gardino ROMA, with a partial black velvet medal bed with storage section for sash, measures 150mm (w) x 325mm (l) x 50mm (d), missing the clasp, light wear to exterior, in very fine condition.
