A Morocco, French Protectorate. An Order of Ouissam Alaouite, Officer, c.1945

(L'Ordre du Alaouite Chérifien). Instituted in 1913. Type II (1934-1954 Issue). Silver gilt and enamels, 41.6 mm x 60 mm inclusive of its wreath suspension, large rosette on its original ribbon, intact enamels, light contact, extremely fine. Footnote: Sultan Moulay Youssef established this Order on January 11, 1913. It replaced the Order of Ouissam Hafidien and became the premier Order of Morocco, awarded in five classes (Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight), in recognition of exceptional civil and military accomplishments.
