Latvia, Republic. A 7th Sigulda Infantry Regiment Badge, by S. Bercs, c.1934

A Maltese cross paty of silvered bronze and multi-coloured enamels, the obverse centre bears a heptagon with blue enamels and the number “7” superimposed over an upwards facing sword, the cross arms are of orange enamel, the reverse is marked “S. BERCS” and shows the attachment prongs of the obverse centre plate, with a screwback and plain plate, measuring 47.70 mm, very fine.
