(Blaue Division Auszeichnungen). A pair of Blue Division awards of postwar Spanish manufacture issued to Eastern Front veterans, including: 1. A Spanish Volunteer Medal, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse bearing a central raised sword overlaid by shields bearing raised Heer and Falange insignia, topped by a Stahlhelm, and situated above a swastika flanked by clutches of laurel leaves, the reverse bearing an inscription of “DIVISIÓN ESPAÑOLA DE VOLUNTARIOS EN RUSIA” (“DIVISION OF SPANISH VOLUNTEERS IN RUSSIA”), above an Iron Cross topped by laurel branches, unmarked, measuring 32.51 mm in diameter, weighing 19.7 (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition. 2. A Medal of the Russian Campaign, constructed of silvered bronze with enamel, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a Spanish national eagle, overlaid by a central 1939 Iron Cross, overlaying a circular laurel leaf wreath topped by a crown, the reverse consisting of a circular chain link wreath, surrounding a depiction of the Novgorod Kremlin above an inscription of “RUSIA 1941”, measuring 37.91 mm (w) x 51.11 mm (h), weighing 18.7 grams, in extremely fine condition.
