(Magyar Érdemrend). Instituted January 1, 1946. Civil Division. A silver gilt cross featuring white enamel arms with a thin orange enamel border, the central medallion features a silver shield on a red enamel field surrounded by a green enamel wreath, the reverse medallion is engraved 1946, suspended from a ring and decorative elongated suspension loop, measures 57.23mm (w) x 62.36mm (h – inclusive of integral ball), weighs 41.8 grams, mark on suspension ring “PV.BP”, enamels intact, reverse medallion dented and scratched, otherwise very fine condition.
