Germany, Wehrmacht. A Close Combat Clasp, Silver Grade, by Funcke & Brüninghaus

(Nahkampfspange in Silber). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, set over a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays with two acorns, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid, demonstrating moderate loss of silver finish to the base metal, in near extremely fine condition.
