(Fallschirmschützenabzeichen mit Etui). Constructed of nickel-silver with gilded brass, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, overlaid by a diving Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two visible rivets securing the obverse eagle in place, with an elongated barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “W. DEUMER, LÜDENSCHEID”, measuring 42.67 mm (w) x 52.78 mm (h), weighing 39.7 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a light wooden frame with a faux dark blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing an embossed and silvered inscription of “FALLSCHIRMSCHÜTZEN-ABZEICHEN”, the interior with a dark blue satin lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted dark blue felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of a second variation “brick pattern” case, measuring 75 mm (w) x 82 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), minor surface tarnishing is visible to the badge while the case demonstrates moderate material fatigue to the exterior, in overall near extremely fine condition.
