(Herr Tarnhemd). A field-used hoodless camouflage smock finished in a Sumpfmuster 43/44 pattern used primarily by Heer personnel. Constructed of a light cotton/rayon-blended material, the exterior mottle consists of a light brown base overlaid by irregular patterns of olive-drab and dark brown, with classic blurred edges, in turn defaced by olive-drab splinters. The collar features a v-neck slit flanked on each side by five blackened non-magnetic eyelets, formerly accommodating a drawstring which has been lost to time. Each sleeve features an internal strap which emanates from a slit and fastens in place with one of two pebbled buttons for an adjustable fit. An additional interior drawstring set into the waist functions as a belt. Two diagonal side slits allows the wearer to access the pockets of an underlying uniform. The interior is undyed and is not intended for reverse wear during alternate seasons. Unmasked, the smock measures approximately 52 cm cross the shoulders, with an arm length of 61 cm, and an overall body length of 78 cm. Material fatigue consistent with wartime use is evident, and includes sporadic but minor holes and patches of material fatigue, with additional minor soiling. The smock is in an overall very fine condition.
