Germany, SA. A Rare Standard Flag Tassel

(SA Fahnenband). A rare Sturmabteilung (SA)/NSDAP rally standard flag tassel, constructed of multiple rows of twisted and rolled red, white, and black wool threading, completing at each end in a stylized acorn with a large pommel emanating from the bottom, retaining an aluminum disc bearing a stamped serial number and magnetic metal Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) tag, both emanating from a period clip which links the two lengths in the centre where they are also tightly knotted together, otherwise unmarked, measuring 114 cm in length as presented, demonstrating minor material fatigue consistent with age and use, a scarce example most commonly affixed to the famous “Deutschland Erwache” banners used by the SA and NSDAP at events and rallies, in near extremely fine condition.
