(Sterbebild mit Foto). Constructed of paper stock, bearing a typewritten dedication to “ANTON HASENÖHRL”, an Obergefreiter in a medical company of a grenadier regiment and recipient of the Black Grade Wound Badge and Infantry Assault Badge, who was killed in action on 19 January 1943 during combat in Russia, measuring 7.5 cm (w) x 11.5 cm (h), accompanied by a matching studio photo, depicting Hasenöhrl in the uniform of a Heer Enlisted soldier, the reverse in unused postcard format and bearing a Teisendorf studio stamp, measuring 9 cm (w) x 14 cm (h), with some soiling and material fatigue evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.

 

Footnote: According to the Bundesarchiv, Anton Hasenöhrl was born on 26 May 1919 in Thundorf, Bavaria. He was killed in action on 16 January 1943 near Lesnoye while serving with 5. Kompanie, Grenadier-Regiment 246.
