(Ordre de la Couronne de Chêne). Instituted in 1841. In 18K Gold with green and white enamels, weighing 9.6 grams, export marked with the head of Mercury on the integral ring, measuring 33.5 mm (w) x 37 mm (h) inclusive of its integral ring suspension, scattered spotting evident on the enamels but they are all intact, original ribbon, extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of the Oak Crown was instituted on December 29, 1841 by King William II of the Netherlands, Grand Duke of Luxembourg. It is awarded for civil and military services and for artistic achievement, in five grades: Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight, along with Medals in Gold, Silver and Bronze.
