Germany, SA. A National Socialist Equestrian Youth Honour Plaque

(Ehrenplakette der NS-Reiterjugend). Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom of the obverse by a NSDAP-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika and on the reverse by a Sturmabteilung (SA) insignia, the obverse bearing a raised horse, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENSTE UM DIE WEHRHAFTE ERTÜCHTIGUNG DER DEUTSCHEN REITERJUGEND” (“FOR MERIT IN STRENGTHENING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE GERMAN EQUESTRIAN YOUTH”), above a signature of the Führer, measuring 110 mm (w) x 118 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
