Germany, NSDAP. A Standard Bearer’s Gorget, by Frank & Reif

(NSDAP Ringkragen für Fahnenträger). Constructed of a bronzed aluminum alloy, the exterior bearing a raised German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika with, patination added to the lower points to provide a striking high relief, trimmed along all edges with raised oak leaves, the reverse retaining a dark green wool liner, with clips emanating from both corner to accommodate a removable neck chain, the latter of identical construction and consisting of 31 links joined together along both the top and bottom edges with narrow loops, the obverse of the links featuring alternating German national eagles and wreathed mobile swastikas, both the reverse of the chain and gorget marked with Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logos and maker codes “M1/102” for Frank & Reif, Stuttgart, the gorget measuring 23 cm (w) x 16 cm (h), the chain measuring 62 cm in length, with one small patch of mothing visible to the wool liner, in extremely fine condition.
