(Lettische SS-Verbände Erkennungsmarke). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse bearing a double-stamped inscription of “AUSB. U. ERS. BTL. LETT. SS-FRW. DIV.” (“AUSBILDUNGS UND ERSATZ BATAILLION LETTISCHE FREIWILLIGEN DIVISION”), the reverse double-stamped with an identity number of “899”, measuring 70 mm (w) x 50 mm (h), demonstrating loss of finish and oxidation throughout, in very fine condition.
