Obverse gold star with ball finials and white enamel centre medallion with gold star. Reverse bearing “Travail et Progres- Arbeid En Vooruitgang” (translation: work and progress in French and Dutch). Measuring at 37.66mm (w) x 39.52mm (h) (from top of ball suspension) and weighing at 17.7 grams.

Footnote: The Colonial Service Star was established on January 16, 1889 and awarded for three year tour in Congo.
