Germany, Third Reich. A Mixed Lot of Insignia

(Insignien). A mixed lot of ten insignia, including:

1. A Heer Officer’s breast eagle, constructed of dark green wool, the obverse bearing a hand-embroidered Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse retaining the remnants of a black paper liner, unmarked, measuring 100 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), demonstrating moderate material fatigue, in uniform-removed and very fine condition.

2. A Heer Panzer EM/NCO’s M43 visor cap insignia, constructed of black rayon, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, above a tri-colour cockade, unmarked, measuring 70 mm (w) x 55 mm (h), in unissued and near mint condition.

3. A Heer pith helmet insignia, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with two attachment prongs, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), loss of finish is evident throughout and the prongs have been repaired or replaced, in fair condition.

4. A Heer Flak/Artillery Ordnance Oberleutnant shoulder board, constructed of red wool with a card stock core, topped by four bands of silver aluminum wire piping, and pinned with a gilded pip and Ordnance cypher, the reverse with an integral strap, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 112 mm (l), with a small spot of mothing visible to the reverse, in extremely fine condition.

5. A Luftwaffe EM/NCO’s breast eagle, constructed of dark grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Luftwaffe eagle clutching a mobile swastika, unmarked, measuring 92 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in uniform-removed and near extremely fine condition.

6. An NSDAP member’s armband, narrow version, constructed of a red dyed cotton/rayon blend, unmarked, measuring 48 mm (w) x 450 mm (l) in its unstitched form, in extremely fine condition.

7. An NSDAP/Political official’s visor cap eagle, constructed of zink, the reverse retaining all three attachment prongs, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and maker code “M1/50” for Richard Sieper & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 66 mm (w) x 35 mm (h), demonstrating loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.

8. A first pattern Sturmabteilung/SS cap eagle, constructed of silvered and blackened bronze, unmarked, measuring 38 mm (w) x 29 mm (h), with a replacement attachment prong soldered to the reverse, in fair condition.

9. A Reichsarbeitsdienst (Reich Labour Service/RAD) Untertruppführer-Vormann collar tab, constructed of black rayon with a buckram core, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey and dark grey insignia, unmarked, measuring 40 mm (w) x 70 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.

10. An Imperial Heer Officer’s shoulder board, constructed of white wool with a card stock core, topped by four bands of silver aluminum wire piping interspersed with black threaded chevrons, pinned with a gilded number “6”, the reverse with an integral strap, unmarked, measuring 44 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), in extremely fine condition.
