(Auszeichnungen). A mixed lot of four decorations, including:

 

1. An infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with an integral hinge and vertical pinback meeting an integral catch, marked with a number “2”, otherwise unmarked but demonstrating the characteristics of manufacture by F.W. Assmann & Söhne, Lüdenscheid, measuring 47.08 mm (w) x 60.80 mm (h), weighing 23.7 grams, demonstrating loss of finish throughout, in very fine condition.

 

2. A DRL Sports Badge, Bronze Grade, constructed of bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon overlaid by a mobile swastika, around central stylized initials “DRL”, the reverse with a barrel hinge an vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “WERNSTEIN, JENA”, measuring 38.58 mm (w) x 48.02 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

3. An Honour Cross of the German Mother, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered bronze with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Latin Cross with its arms joined through the quadrants by sun rays, the obverse with blue and white enameled arms, bearing a central white enameled disc overlaid by a black swastika, circumscribed by a raised inscription of “DER DEUTSCHEN MUTTER” (“TO THE GERMAN MOTHER”), the reverse bearing an etched institution date of “16. DEZEMBER 1938” and a signature of the Führer, unmarked, measuring 35.23 mm (w) x 45.35 mm (h), weighing 12.8 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.

 

4. A Civil Service 25 Year Long Service Award, constructed of silvered bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms joined together through the quadrants by a circular oak leaf wreath, the obverse bearing a black swastika, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE”), unmarked, measuring 40.94 mm (w) x 45.98 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), demonstrating loss of finish to the base metal in addition to the loss of the ribbon’s pinback, in very fine condition.
