Braunschweig, Duchy. An Order of Henry the Lion, I Class Honour Medal

(Orden Heinrich des Löwen Ehrenzeichen I. Klasse). Instituted 25 April 1834 by Duke Wilhelm. (1903-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing the wreathed and crowned monogram of Duke Wilhelm, the reverse bearing a raised inscription of “IMMOTA FIDES” (“ALWAYS FAITHFUL”), situated above oak leaf branches, unmarked, measuring 31.11 mm in diameter, weighing 12.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
