Constructed of silvered tombak, the obverse consisting of a Wehrmacht eagle perched on top of a wreathed mobile swastika, in turn situated above a trapezoidal plaque bearing a raised date of “1939”, the reverse retaining all four attachment prongs, unmarked but demonstrating the physical characteristics of manufacture by Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 30.52 mm (w) x 30.85 mm (h), weighing 7.8 grams, retaining an original Third Reich-period length of ribbon, demonstrating some loss of finish to the reverse consistent with wear, in extremely fine condition.
