Germany, Wehrmacht. An Azad Hind Silver Medal with Swords

(Medaille des Ordens Azad Hind in Silber mit Schwertern). Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised inscription of “AZAD HIND”, topped by a leftward-facing Bengal tiger and situated above a lily, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “INDIENS FREIHEITS KAMPF” (“INDIA’S FREEDOM STRUGGLE”) set on a grid, topped by a pair of crossed swords and loop retaining a period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 36.39 mm (w) x 50.16 mm (h), weighing 26.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
