(Ordensschnalle). A medal bar featuring three decorations, including:

 

1. A King Ludwig Cross, constructed of blackened bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of King Ludwig III, the reverse bearing a central medallion overlaid by a date of “7. I. 1916” on a Bavarian checkered motif, unmarked, measuring 39.81 mm (w) x 45.60 mm (h), weighing 21.1 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

2. A Golden Wedding Anniversary Medal, constructed of gilded zink, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 25.99 mm (w) x 37.01 mm (h), demonstrating total loss of gilt finish, in very fine condition.

 

3. A Royal Order of Merit of St. Michael, Silver Medal, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and ribbed Cross Pattée, overlaid by an exceptionally detailed depiction of St. Michael trampling the devil while clutching a sword and shield, the latter bearing an inscription of “QUIS UT DEUS” (“WHO IS LIKE GOD”), the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “VIRTUTI” (“VIRTUE”), unmarked, measuring 35.95 mm in diameter, weighing 19.9 grams, in extremely fine condition.

 

All suspended from a 150 mm-long zink bar with a horizontal pinback and red wool reverse liner, unmarked, retaining a ribbon and mount for a rare Ludwig Order which has been lost to time, in extremely fine condition.
