Constructed of bronze, the obverse bearing a central raised depiction of the Narva Triumphal Arch in exceptional detail, circumscribed by a Cyrillic inscription dedicated to the Russian forces who defeated Napoleon during the French invasion of Russia and subsequent pursuit of his forces across Europe, situated above a date of 18 August 1834 (commemorating the opening of the permanent stone monument which replaced the previous wooden incarnation), the reverse bearing a central raised Eye of Providence situated above a radiant starburst, topped by dates “1812, 1813, 1814”, the obverse engraver marked “GUBE” for German medallist Heinrich Gube, measuring 64.53 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition.
