Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with a crossed sword clasp and period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and crowned monogram of Prince Heinrich XIV, the reverse bearing a central raised inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”), situated within a circular laurel leaf wreath, unmarked, the medal measuring 32.72 mm in diameter, the sword clasp measuring 36.32 mm (w) x 12.32 mm (h), weighing 20.0 grams, in extremely fine condition.
