Saxe-Weimar and Eisenach, Grand Duchy. A General Honour Decoration, Military Division, Gold Grade

(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen in Gold). Instituted 25 June 1902 by Grand Duke Wilhelm Ernst. (1914-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Ernst Wilhelm, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central inscription of “DEM VERDIENST 1914” (“TO MERIT 1914”), situated within circular oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 36.08 mm in diameter, weighing 25.3 grams, demonstrating loss of gilt finish and the missing the ribbon’s sword clasp, in very fine condition.
