Serbia, Kingdom. An Order of the Star of Karageorg, III Class, c.1915

(Orden Karađorđeve zvezde). Instituted in 1904. A lovely Commander cross, in silver gilt, a white enamel cross with smooth rays in each quadrants, the obverse medallion features a red and white enamelled shield, on a blue enamelled field, surrounded by a white enamel ring inscribed за вба8 и слобод8 1804, the reverse medallion presents a gilt eagle on a red enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamelled ring inscribed петар 1 1904, the cross is surmounted by a large crown detailed in red, white and green enamels, unmarked, but likely of French manufacture, measures 49.6mm (w) x 79.6mm (h), weighs 48.3 grams, accompanied by a modern full length neck ribbon.

Contained in its original case of issue, a red exterior marked with order and class on the exterior, interior presents a silk lid with black recessed medal bed, measures 85mm (w) x 140mm (h) x 32mm (d), clasp and hinge functional, light wear, remains in very fine condition.
