(Frackspange). A superb medal bar for a veteran of the German Wars of Unification featuring six decorations, including: 1. An Order of the Red Eagle, IV Class Cross, constructed of silver with multi-coloured enamels, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a red hand-painted Prussian imperial eagle, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm II, without visible marks, measuring 38.90 mm (w) x 42.24 mm (h), in extremely fine condition. 2. An Officer’s 25-Year Long Service Cross, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, the reverse bearing a central raised number “25” in Roman numerals, unmarked, measuring 39.34 mm (w) x 43.64 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition. 3. A War Commemorative Medal for 1870/71 for Combatants, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon pinned with “METZ” and “PARIS” campaign clasps, unmarked, measuring 28.98 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition. 4. A War Commemorative Medal of 1864 for Combatants, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 29.03 mm in diameter, in extremely fine condition. 5. An Alsen Cross, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 32.75 mm (w) x 37.82 mm (h), in extremely fine condition. 6. A Kaiser Wilhelm I Centenary Medal, constructed of gilded bronze, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, unmarked, measuring 39.71 mm in diameter, in near extremely fine condition. All suspended from a 200 mm-long non-magnetic metal core with a diagonal pinback and dark blue wool reverse liner, formatted in a descending angle for display on formal wear, unmarked, a striking example in extremely fine condition.
