Russia, Soviet Union. An Order of Friendship of Peoples

Instituted December 17, 1972. In silver gilt, a ten-point star with alternating clusters of smooth and faceted rays, a red enamelled five point star sits atop the base presenting the central enamelled medallion with symbols of Soviet Union with the inscription Дружбы Народов (Friendship of Peoples), the reverse presents six rivets and the central raised mark of the Monetny Dvor Mint, numbered 5099, measures 47.2mm (w) x 51.1mm (h – inclusive of integral ring), worn on a five sided suspension with pin on reverse, scattered gilt wear, remains in very fine condition.
