Austria, Imperial. A Personal Gift in Gold from Emperor Franz Joseph I, c.1900

In 18K Solid Gold, oval-shaped, hallmarked on the integral ring, French-made, the front voided in the centre and housing the crowned cypher of Emperor Franz Joseph I in Gold, the cypher held in place via three pins on a glass plate with a sapphire blue obverse and black reverse, the exterior of the frame decorated in an ornate beaded trim, hinged on the left side and when opened, reveals a clear glass plate on the right side for the placement of a photograph, loop for suspension, 25.8 mm x 32.3 mm x 10 mm, interruptions evident in the beading on the trim, minor dents on the reverse, both pieces of glass intact, extremely fine and rare.
