(Frontflugspange für Kampf- und Sturzkampfflieger). Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a central circular laurel leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, around a central bronzed magnetic metal winged bomb, flanked on each side by nine oak leaves, the reverse with a central visible rivet securing the obverse bomb in place, with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked with the logo of Funcke & Brüninghaus, Lüdenscheid, measuring 77.12 mm (w) x 26.23 mm (h), weighing 17.2 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a heavy card stock frame with a faux blue leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a silvered inscription of “FRONTFLUGSPANGE FÜR KAMPFFLIEGER SILBER”, the interior with a white rayon lid liner and intact hinge cover, with a slotted white felt medal bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 90 mm (w) x 42 mm (l) x 24 mm (h), the clasp demonstrating near-total loss of silver finish and with material fatigue evident to the exterior of the case, a complete set in overall very fine condition.
