(Trommel mit Klöpper und Anhänger). An Imperial German Army marching drum, constructed of a white-painted wooden shell, affixed at both the top and bottom with additional wooden rings painted in a red and white diamond pattern along the outer circumference, secured in place with five magnetic metal rivets, with additional magnetic metal fixtures for the accommodation of a drum hanger, each side retaining a fully intact skin, unmarked but with some of the fixtures bearing manufacturer codes, measuring 270 mm in width (exclusive of rivets), accompanied by two drumsticks constructed of lacquered and black-painted wood with bronze bases, both unmarked and measuring 415 mm in length, both the drum and sticks demonstrating material fatigue and loss of paint consistent with age and moderate usage, in overall very fine condition; accompanied by a hanger, constructed of bronze, consisting of a stylized German national eagle perched on top of a bar from which dual curved hooks emanated, with the eagle’s head and left wing connecting to a swivel hinge with an integral loop around which is set a brown leather belt hanger, the reverse of the eagle maker marked with the partially-legible stamp of a Gotha-based manufacturer, the eagle measuring 80 mm (w) x 115 mm (h), with age-appropriate fatigue evident to the leather hanger, in overall near extremely fine condition.
