(Heer Schiffchen für Männer der Nachrichtentruppe). An extremely well-preserved Heer Panzer Signals EM/NCO’s M35 overseas cap, constructed of black wool. The cap is fully surrounded by fold-down side walls which are gently scalloped at the front. The crown is flanked on each side by ventilation holes reinforced with black-painted zink grommets. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a black rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika. The eagle insignia measures 72 mm (w) x 30 mm (h) overall. Directly below the eagle, the side wall is stitched with a machine-embroidered rayon tricolour cockade, measuring 38 mm (w) x 38 mm (h). Surrounding the cockade is a bright lemon-yellow soutache, securely stitched through the lower seam of the walls. The interior is fully encompassed by a multi-piece field-grey cotton/rayon-blended liner. Stamped onto the crown in black ink is a maker’s mark of “WILLY SPRENGPFEIL, HAMBURG”, with a manufacture date of “1938”, and a size mark of “56”. The cap measures approximately 290 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded on a flat surface. Presenting free of evident wear or damage, the cap is in a near mint condition.
