(Feld-Artillerie Waffenrock). An exceptionally well-preserved Prussian Field Artillery dress tunic, constructed of a dark navy blue whipcord wool. It features a high reinforced collar, fully lined on the exterior with a dark navy blue doeskin liner, with the edge also trimmed with red piping. The piping descends from the collar and fully trims the length of each breast flap. The shoulders are flanked by dual integral loops, with the interior loop featuring a wide silver aluminum wire tresse, for the accommodation of straps which have since been lost to time. Each shoulder is perforated with an additional hole for the insertion of a button. The arms feature Swedish-style cuffs consisting of an additional layer of dark navy blue doeskin measuring 75 mm in width. Lengths of red piping trim the edges, while each cuff is also pinned with polished and silvered non-magnetic metal buttons. Pocketless, the tunic closes with eight polished and silvered non-magnetic metal buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes on the left flap. The reverse of each button bears a stamped mark of “HOCHFEINE QUALITÄT” (“FINEST QUALITY”), indicating that all are original to the tunic. Completing the exterior features is a central reverse vertical slit, flanked on each side with a scalloped flap lined with red piping and pinned with three polished and silvered non-magnetic metal buttons. The interior is fully encompassed by a high-quality multi-piece black rayon-blended liner which transitions into a pinstripe design through the arms. Unmarked, the tunic measures approximately 460 mm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 655 mm, and an overall body length of 780 mm. In addition to the missing shoulder straps, slight wear consistent with light usage is visible to the interior of the collar, but the tunic otherwise demonstrates no issues and is in an extremely fine condition.
