Silver with white enameled Maltese cross and blue enameled centerpiece with three gold stars, reverse center bearing Latvian “LATVIJAS REPUBLIKA 1918. G. 18 NOVEMBRIS” (translation: Latvian Republic November 18, 1918) surrounded by the Latin motto of the order “PER ASPERA AD ASTRA” (translation: Through difficulties to the stars), combined with national hallmark denoting years 1922 to 1940, marked 825 for silver and “F.M” makers mark, measuring 50.63mm (w) x 76.87mm (h) and weighing at 114.9 grams.
Accompanied by the Breast Star of the order, silver star with “Par Teviju” surrounding blue enameled centerpiece with the three gold stars, reverse bearing meander pattern and makers mark “Ordenu Fabrika Riga Latvija W.F. Müller”, hallmarked with a woman wearing a Latvian crown (representing Latvia), stamped 875 for silver and “F.M” makers mark, measuring at 81.07mm (w) x 81.92 mm (h) and weighing at 86.2 grams, in extremely fine condition.
