Heer (Army) Panzer officer’s M1938 field cap, constructed of field-grey wool twill, the top of the cap, as well as the frontal scallops, are adorned with silver aluminum wire piping, while the top also bears dual ventilation holes reinforced with magnetic metal eyelets, stitched into the peak of the cap is an insignia in the form of a Wehrmacht-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, constructed of machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire on a green rayon backer, measuring 65 mm (w) x 26 mm (h), underneath the eagle is a pink soutache, indicating Panzer, above a Wehrmacht-style tri-colour cockade constructed of black and silver wires, with a red felt core, the interior front has a grey leather sweatband, securely held in place by a row of machine stitching, the interior features a complete light green rayon liner, marked size 57, and measures 28 cm (w) x 10 cm (h) as folded, and in near extremely fine condition.
