A well-preserved Associazione Nazionale Mutilati e Invalidi di Guerra (National Association of War Disabled Persons) officer’s overseas cap, constructed of slate-grey wool. It is fully surrounded by fold-down side panels with a sloping curve toward the front. Stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a slate-grey backe, trimmed with machine-embroidered white piping, and bearing a central machine-embroidered Mutilati Association insignia of identical construction. The peak insignia measures 55 mm (w) x 65 mm (h) overall. The interior presents plain with the exception of a paper label on the left side bearing a size stamp of “56”. Otherwise unmarked, the cap measures approximately 275 mm (l) x 125 mm (h) when folded flat. Some material fatigue is evident to the exterior wool, and includes small patches of mothing to the left side. The cap is in an overall very fine condition.
