(Wehrmacht Abzeichen). A pair of Wehrmacht service badges, including:

1. A War Merit Cross I Class with Swords, constructed of silvered zink, consisting of a Maltese Cross with crossed swords piercing the centrepiece, the obverse with pebbled arms and a central wreathed mobile swastika, the reverse with a barrel hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, the pinback maker marked with Präsidialkanzlei code “4” for Steinhauer & Lück, Lüdenscheid, measuring 47.66 mm (w) x 47.76 mm (h), weighing 18.2 grams, demonstrating minor loss of finish and some blunting of the right tip of the six o’clock arm, in better than very fine condition.

2. An Infantry Assault Badge, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, diagonally across the badge is a Karabiner 98k rifle with the bayonet attached and the carrying sling hanging from the rifle, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 46.70 mm (w) x 62.55 mm (h), weighing 28.4 grams, demonstrating moderate loss of finish, in better than very fine condition.
