Constructed of silvered bronze, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a German State Crown, around a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a crimped hinge and vertical pinback meeting a flat wire catch, unmarked, measuring 44.55 mm (w) x 71.72 mm (h), weighing 20.6 grams, with minor loss of finish evident, in near extremely fine condition, accompanied by a photograph of the recipient, depicted in a flight suit and standing beside a biplane, printed period Agfa-Brovira paper and measuring 13 cm (w) x 17.5 cm (h) and set within a period frame, in near extremely fine condition.
