Hungary, Kingdom. An Order of Saint Stephen, Knight, by Rothe, c.1960

Institution Date: May 5, 1764. In silver gilt, with green, red and white enamels, with a crown of Saint Stephen suspension, on period ribbon with a miniature breast star, measuring at 31.8mm (w) x 58.2mm (h- inclusive of suspension) and weighing at 27.0 grams, in display case, intact enamels, in extremely fine condition.

Footnote: This Order was a resuscitated version of the Austro-Hungarian Order of St. Stephen. The Hungarian version of the Order was revived in 1938 by the Horthy Regime and re-titled the Order of St. Stephen of Hungary.
