Constructed of zink, the obverse consisting of a square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade overlaying a magnetic metal backplate, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and rays interspersed with two acorns, the reverse with a crimped barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, designer marked “W.E. PEEKHAUS, BERLIN” and maker marked with the logo of Josef Feix & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 97.58 mm (w) x 26.80 mm (h), weighing 30.8 grams, a second pattern Feix clasp in near extremely fine condition.
