France, Third Republic. A Badge of the Senator of the Third Republic

A multi piece construction star in silver and gilt with red, blue and white enamels, the obverse with a silver bust of the Greek figure Omphale in the centre, surrounded by French "République Françoise Sénat" (translation: French Republic Senate), bearing the affixed letters “F” and “R” for République Françoise, reverse presents a suspension ring at 12 o'clock, with multiple rivets around the exterior arms, measuring at 66.8mm (w) x 65.8mm (h), and weighing at 61.1 grams, enamels intact, minor gilt wear, remains in extremely fine condition.
