$305
Exterior fabricated from a black wool, the front with three pockets, one on the left breast designed without a flap and two larger ones on both sides at the waist with flaps. Just below the left breast pocket there are three pairs of loops for placement of awards that have been lost to time. There is a hook and eye combination at the collar, ensuring a snug fit when connected. In addition, there are six reinforced button holes near the opening on the left side but the corresponding buttons on the right side have been previously removed. Fed through the top button hole are slightly soiled ribbons of the Iron Cross 2nd Class 1939 and the East Medal. The inside is lined in black cotton, with a pocket on the left breast designed without a flap, with all four pockets on the coat lined in herringbone-patterned gray cotton. Most of the 50 mm long cotton strap in the collar for hanging the coat on a hook has severed, held together by a thin strand. The white rayon-lined sleeves are designed with a series of blue, gray and red stripes. The coat measures 500 mm across the shoulders x 785 in length. It exhibits separation at the seams where the sleeves connect to the body of the coat on the exterior, with repair evident below the left breast pocket on the front, along with separation of the cotton lining from the wool body near the opening on both sides and fabric wear on the rayon lining of the sleeves. Very fine.
