(Tropen Stiefelhose). A pair of extremely well-preserved Heer tropical breeches, constructed of a light olive-drab cotton twill. The waistband features an integrated belt, consisting of a hollow channel through which is looped an olive-drab canvas belt. Emanating from the right side of the waist, the belt meets a magnetic metal buckle with three teeth, and fastens through a cotton loop for adjustable closure. The breeches feature a French fly, closing with six magnetic metal buttons meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes. The thighs are flanked by side pockets, each opening with a reinforced vertical slit. An additional narrow, horizontal pocket is set into the upper right leg. A vertical slit is set into the ankle of each leg, and closes with a grey cotton drawstring. The interior features a partial white cotton liner which encompasses the waistband, and also comprises the interior of the pockets. A pair of cotton straps emanate from the waistband and secure onto the interior with dual magnetic metal buttons, accommodating optional suspenders, while an additional four belt loops with magnetic metal buttons are also affixed to the waistband. The remnants of a black ink size chart are visible on the right of the waistband, having since been rendered illegible. The breeches are otherwise unmarked and measure approximately 390 mm across the waist, with an inseam of 345 mm, and an overall length of 870 mm. Minor, age-appropriate material fatigue is evident, and the breeches are in an overall extremely fine condition.
