Instituted in 1868, Grand Officer breast star center applique in gilt bronze and white and blue enamels affixed on eight-pointed silver star, with gold center, hallmarked, marked “E. Gardino Succ. Cravanzola, ” on reverse cartouche with a horizontal pinback, measuring at 76.9 mm (w) x 77.1mm (h), weighing at 58.5 grams, with minor wear to edges of the star, overall near very fine condition.
