Italy, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown in Gold, Commander, c. 1900

(Ordine della Corona d'Italia). Instituted February 20, 1868 by Victor Emmanuel II. In 18k Gold, a white enamel Ruppert Cross with delicate Savoy knots in each quadrant, obverse medallion presents a blue enamel field with a gold crown decorated in white, red and green enamel dots, the reverse medallion presents a gold field with a leftward facing black enamel eagle with a white cross on red enamel oval, measures 51.25mm (w) x 54.73mm (h- inclusive of integral ring), weights 18.7 grams (excluding ribbon), worn on original neck ribbon, center medallions loose, enamels intact, very fine condition.
