Thailand, Kingdom. A Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn, III Class Commander

(Khrueang Ratcha-itsariyaphon An Pen Thi Sansoen Ying Direkkhunaphon; เครื่องราชอิสริยาภรณ์อันเป็นที่สรรเสริญยิ่งดิเรกคุณาภรณ์). Instituted in 1991 (B.E 2534). Five-piece construction, insignia in silver gilt with red enamels, mounted to a sixteen-point base consisting of alternating petals and flames, the reverse cartouche in silver gilt with white enamels, maker marked on the reverse of the star point at 12 o'clock, silver hallmarked and marked "36" on the reverse of both the star point at 6 o'clock and the crown suspension, measuring 57.5 mm (w) x 89 mm (h), light contact overall, on its original full-length neck ribbon with dual hook and eye closure, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, the exterior in red felt, the lid bearing a 38.5 mm (w) x 43.3 mm (h) Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn in silver gilt, inside lid lined in white nylon and maker marked in gold-coloured ink, the recessed medal bed in white felt, clasp closure, measuring 81.5 mm (w) x 138.3 mm (h) x 46.5 mm (d), light wear and soiling evident on the exterior and medal bed, case better than very fine.

Footnote: The Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn was established by King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX) on July 22, 1991 (B.E. 2534), to be bestowed upon those who have rendered devotional services to the Kingdom of Thailand. The title "Direkgunabhorn" roughly translates as "Noble Order of Abundance and Quality." The Order consists of seven classes: I Class Knight Grand Cross, II Class Knight Commander, III Class Commander, IV Class Companion, V Class Member, VI Class Gold Grade Medal and VII Class Silver Grade Medal. Originally, the ribbon for each class was the same, with no device to distinguish the different level. On January 31, 2538 B.E. (1995 CE), the regulations were amended to include a device on the ribbon distinguishing the class.
