Constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Duke Ernst I, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a royal crown topped by an inscription of “DEM VERDIENSTE” (“FOR MERIT”) inside of an oak wreath, the obverse maker marked “HELFRICHT”, measuring 23.57 mm in diameter, weighing 8.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
