Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Duchy. A Silver Medal for Art and Science by Helfricht, c.1870

(Silberne Medaille für Kunst und Wissenschaft). Instituted 30 January 1835 by Duke Ernst I. (1858-1893 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Duke Ernst I, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a royal crown topped by an inscription of “DEM VERDIENSTE” (“FOR MERIT”) inside of an oak wreath, the obverse maker marked “HELFRICHT”, measuring 23.57 mm in diameter, weighing 8.5 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
