(Lapplandschild mit Insignien und Verleihungsurkunde) A rare attributed Lappland Shield set, featuring a decoration constructed of partially-blackened aluminum, the obverse consisting of a shield bearing a raised depiction of the Lapland region, topped by an inscription of “LAPPLAND” and a German national eagle overlaid by a mobile swastika, perforated with three holes for sew-on attachment, unmarked, measuring 47 mm (w) x 66 mm (h), a field-made exemple in extremely fine condition; accompanied by its award document, named to Stabsgefreiter Emilian Fleißner of Gebirgs-Nachrichten-Abteilung 140 (part of the newly-formed 9. Gebirgs-Division Nord), issued at company headquarters on 6 May 1945, featuring a handwritten signature of a Hauptmann and company commander, measuring 147 mm (w) x 198 mm (h), with a central folding crease visible, in near extremely fine condition; also accompanied by a Gebirgsjäger EM/NCO’s sleeve insignia, constructed of dark grey wool, the obverse bearing a machine-embroidered multi-coloured edelweiss within a knotted border, topped by a piton, unmarked, measuring 56 mm (w) x 68 mm (h), in near mint condition.
