Constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of an oval oak leaf wreath, around a central raised Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, situated above a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, the reverse with a ball hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked, measuring 42.46 mm (w) x 53.73 mm (h), weighing 27.4 grams, in extremely fine condition; accompanied by its original award document, constructed of off-white paper stock with black ink, named to “WACHTMEISTER WALDEMAR GÜLDENSTERN” of 7. Batterie, Artillerie-Regiment 34, issued at headquarters on 12 August 1941, certified by the handwritten signature of Generalleutnant Hans Behlendorff (Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, 11 October 1941), measuring 15 cm (w) x 21 cm (h), demonstrating a central folding crease and some discolouration, in near extremely fine condition.
