(Heer Sturmgeschützjacke für Mannschaften). An extremely well-preserved Heer Assault Gun Enlisted personnel wrap, constructed of field-grey wool. It features a turned-down collar which transitions into double breast lapels, and which is flanked on each side by tabs. The latter are constructed of field-grey wool with buckram cores, trimmed with red piping, bear two silver-grey rayon insignia, and measure 35 mm (w) x 75 mm (l) overall. The shoulders are topped by straps constructed of field-grey wool and trimmed with red piping. Each measuring 50 mm (w) x 110 mm (l), the straps are secured in place with loops at the outer edges and with pebbled, silvered buttons on the inner edge. The cuff of each sleeve has a vertical slit with a hidden rayon strap perforated with a single buttonhole, in turn meeting two grey bakelite buttons for an adjustable fit. Stitched onto the upper right breast is an insignia consisting of a field-grey rayon backer bearing a machine-embroidered silver-grey Wehrmacht eagle clutching a wreathed mobile swastika, measuring 110 mm (w) x 45 mm (h) overall. It closes with eight grey bakelite buttons on the right flap meeting an equal number of reinforced buttonholes and loops on the left flap. Completing the exterior features are two magnetic metal belt hooks which emanate from the waistband through pre-set eyelets. The interior features a partial liner consisting of multiple panels of slate-grey rayon set into each breast, both featuring a single pocket. Unmarked, the wrap measures approximately 42 cm across the shoulders, with an arm length of 57 cm, and an overall body length of 59 cm. Demonstrating not notable damage or wear, this superb example remains in an extremely fine condition.
