Germany, SS. A Waffen-SS Officer’s Belt Buckle, by Overhoff & Cie

(Waffen-SS Gürtelschnalle für Offiziere). Constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised SS-style German national eagle clutching a wreathed swastika, within a ribbed ring bearing a banner overlaid by an inscription of “MEINE EHRE HEIßT TREUE” (“MY HONOUR IS LOYALTY”), the reverse with a clip and swivel attachment claws, marked with a Reichszeugmeisterei logo, the double Sig runes of the SS, and the maker’s logo of Overhoff & Cie, Lüdenscheid, measuring 50 mm in diameter, with moderate loss of finish evident throughout, in very fine condition.
